19th Century Nautical Engraved I'D Powder Horn. This 11" long chip carved horn is identified to "John Scott Tryon 7-2-56" having several scenes throughout including a three masted whaling Ship with a small whaling boat harpooning a Whale at night under a half Moon, an Anchor with a chain, a song Bird, an American Eagle holding two arrows, a Star, a Cabin with a Bird weathervane, a Sailors knot, and an American Indian Canoe. An very active primitive horn, without damage. Missing plug staple. May be the from the Tryon family in New York further research is needed.
