Description:

Civil War Card De Vista of a Union Sergeant. This unusual 2-3/8" x 4" CDV of Freeman Fuller a Sergeant in the Union Army who is displaying on his uniform his regular Army Reenlistment service chevron stripes that were authorized under General Order 191 on June 25th 1863. The rear of this card is noted in hand "Freeman Fuller ready to start for the war" "Freeman Fuller" and a collections note "The above inscription is unlikely to be correct, the Sergeants stripes and possible hashmarks on his sleeves suggest he has been in service for some time" This CDV has a 1/2" left bottom corner crease that is loosely held in place and other minor edge nicks
