Description:

Early WWII N2S-3 Steerman Navy Trainer Canvas Roundel Star Emblem. This nicely framed early war pre 1942 style red roundel was discontinued due to the Red Dot Star being confusing to pilots. This one was cut out from a Navy Trainer likely after they were ordered changed or removed, may even be from a crashed plane. This is the same type as observed in the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum on the famous George H.W. Bush display Bi-Plane made by Boeing. Paint has cracking and some light bubbling. Cut out measures approx. 30" in diameter and over all measures with frame 36" x 36"
