Impressive War of 1812 State of Maryland Branded Contract Flintlock Musket. This 1808 pattern example was made by Winner, Nippes, and Stillman of Philadelphia under the 1808 US Government contract and likely issued to Maryland after it's US inspection. "Maryland" stamp branded forward of trigger guard in stock. BBL is 44-1/8" with Government Contract "Eagle CT" facing right in an oval inspection cartouche on the LS breech and an underside bayonet lug 1-3/8" from muzzle. Marine T. Wickham "MTW" 1811-to 1815 inspection stamp on stock LS flat behind side plate. Lock plate is stamped "W.N&S PHILA.D" at rear behind hammer, with an Eagle and US stamped in center of lock. Threaded Ram Rod appears original. Condition: Retains the original configuration "Q" inspected flintlock parts and plate as well as all its furniture. Wood bruising and handling marks throughout stock, without any wood loss.
